i am also stunned. shocked. confused. lol.
i’m not really surprised that he proposed. i love this guy. he loves me. it’s been long enough. so, yes… engage me. lol.
i just feel like.. i dunno.. you know, day to day is boring. you do the same stuff everyday. you don’t really feel time. but, it’s those moments when something ridiculous happens, like someone gets pregnant or married, where you feel time. and i can feel time right now. i feel picked up and thrust towards some kind of definite end.
i feel like i just looked up, and i’m 25 years old and engaged to be married! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
anyway… let me get this story out of the way.
so, yesterday was our 7th year anniversary. we went to school. i went to work. and we both got home around 3pm. we stopped at taco bell, because that was one of our first dates.
taco bell is kind of at the center of our relationship. lol.
we ate. drank wine (classy with our taco bell.. lol). chilled. and got dressed. and we went to a place called sips ‘n strokes. it’s not a strip club, like it sounds.. lol. it’s a place where you can pay a fee, and take a painting class, and you leave with your painting.
in the car on the way there, his conversation was really sweet and intense. he was talking about how much he loves me… how we’ve grown together… how we become more and more like each other. he talked about how he thinks our 7th year will be our best yet. and i’m like “yeah. 7 is my lucky number.”
so, we’re rushing into the sips n strokes place because we’re supposed to be there 10 minutes before it’s supposed to start, and we’re late (thanks to me.. lol). there’s a long line too.
we get a spot with 2 seats together. get some snacks.. our paint. and we paint! he was so into that painting. we were both taking it seriously.. lol. it was fun!!!
palm trees on the beach.
after we finished, we left. on the way to the car he was talking sweet and serious again. i think he was like “it’s funny that we painted paradise because spending the rest of our lives together will be paradise.”
then, he gets down on one knee! pulls out the ring and asks me to marry him. i said “yes! of course!”
and i’ve been stunned ever since.
he said he wanted to propose inside sips n strokes but there were too many “desperate housewives and milfs” in there. IT WAS! lol. they would have been all over us the whole time. and i wouldn’t have been able to have a good time because i would have been too worried about the painting that everyone would have invited themselves to look at.
david isn’t a “flashy mcnasty” type of guy. and we’ve tried to follow my dad’s advice and keep other people out of our relationship. so.. it was perfect. just me and him and our love like always.
afterwards, we went to dinner at lynn’s paradise cafe. we had planned on going somewhere else, but after painting and the engagement, the place would have been closed. so, we wandered into lynn’s. the food was DEL! but i was really too shocked to eat. every time i looked down, THERE IT WAS…
a pearl ring surrounded by diamonds. stunned.
the rest of the evening is rated X.
